Advice appreciated
Can anyone help?.....
My partner and I are seriously looking at moving to Oz. Having never visited the country we would would appreciate advice on locations to settle. We are a bricklayer and a primary school teacher with a 6 month old daughter. We are looking for a location that has the following: 1. Good job prospects for the both of us. 2. A reasonable cost of living. 3. Near to the beach (a short drive is fine). 4. Good weather, with as little rain as possible (we are moving from north England after all). We have done some research and have found that the education system, on the whole seems to be of an high standard but would appreciate any further information on education standards in different states. All advice welcome. |

Hi Steven,
Sounds like you should head for the Gold Coast. Plenty of building going on and schools are popping up everywhere. Stuart |
Re: Advice appreciated
wow thats a massive open ended question. I think your best bet might be to do a search on these forums using the city names to try to find out more info.
Personally I live in perth, it fills all of your criteria. It has lots of beaches and the best laid out and biggest roads in aus. Some say its quiet, but I have never seen that theres massive shopping centers all over the place that are often packed with people, so that doesnt seem quiet to me :) Really though its a matter of taste, I had never been here before and came to perth first, then tried adelaide for a year which felt more old world like england so headed back to perth. Realy though its a big question. Job wise try checking out seek.com.au you might see some on there to give you an idea of what you would be looking at |

Thanks everyone for your advice. I appreciate the the question was a massive open one. After more research we are looking to relocate to Victoria. There seems to be a big demand for brickies in and around the Melbourne/Geelong area, and they are not too far from the coast.
