Hi Guys

When we come for our holidays in May, Will we be able to sort out a tax file number and do our driving theory test?
Just wondered as already have visa, just waiting to sell house.

Yep

As far as I know, if you are a permanent resident (and you will be) you can do these things when you get here.

You'll love it here, lifes not a bed of roses, but it beats the UK, dont worry what the wingers say.

Be careful about applying for a TFN too early - applying when you are on hols implies you have become a tax resident, which you haven't on initial validation of the visa.

I'd wait until you make the permanent move ...
