Hi,
We live at Flagstaff Hill (South of the city)and it is far enough out of the city for us. I work in Fullarton which is just on the southish edge of the city and it takes between 25-35 mins to get to work by car. Hubby works on the other side of the city and it takes him 40-50 mins.

The Eastern suburbs are lovely, takes around10 minutes by car to get to the CBD,there is also the Obahn which is a special track just for buses which gets into the city in around 10 mins,if not less, stations are at Klemzig,Paradise and Tea tree plaza, you can park there and hop on the obahn.
Some of the suburbs are Paradise,Athelstone.Highbury, all really pretty, nestling in the foothills,leafy...and green!

Hi,
we lived in the east when we first arrived. Leafy suburbs in close proximity to the CBD. Great schools, public and private. Fantastic parks, outdoor swimming pools, free tennis courts. Good local shopping and cafe/bar culture at Norwood and Burnside. Met all our friends through the school community and sporting commitments, very welcoming, warm, lovely people. Not snobby in any way, as others would have you believe. They continue to keep me sane and smiling through the rollercoaster ride of the new migrant.

Hi were in the south, we find it to be lovely, very open and spacious etc, not as green as the east - east is lovely too, we're in the south mainly for the beach lifestyle - which is amazing.
It takes us 45/60mins to the city depending on the time of day and if we get to the one way motorway at the right time - it goes into the city in the morning and out of the city in afternoons/eve, sounds odd but does make the journey alot quicker.
Areas to avoid - before we arrived we heard alot about certain areas - but now here and having driven around most places we havnt seen anything that would compare to a rough area in the UK.
Theres good n bad everywhere - same as there are little britains everywhere.

we live in the east (Burnside) and love it, very green, leafy, lots of parks and conservation parks (Morialta is stunning !!) outdoor pools, and great shops, and outdoor cafes 2 mins away in Norwood. I get the bus into the city and it takes me around 15 mins

Hi,
We lived in Old Reynella, South East of Adelaide and we never had any problems. Nice area, nice houses (in carews field estate) and the school was good too. Our kids were in year 1 and 4 when we were there. It was easy to get onto main south road to go into the city too, probably around 30-40 minutes from the city depending on time of day.
Hope this helps
