And the sun does shine even in Melbourne winter. It is quite common to see no sun to speak of in London over the winter for a fair while. London in 2003 was fantastic though. But according to mates it normally rains for most of July and August. London often has summer in May and June, and then the rainy season. There is no ice to wipe off my windscreen in Melbourne. Long story - I'm from Melbourne, my wife is Scottish, we met in Melbourne when she was out teaching, we moved to Bendigo when we got jobs there - me at what is now BRITafe and my wife at Girton College. We rented in Neale Street, Kennington (opposite the oval) for a year and then for 4 years up the hill in a place we bought in Cotswold Crescent, Strathdale. We had a block of land in Tannery Lane, Mandurang also. We left Bendigo to come to Scotland, we loved it there but my wife got very homesick having gone out to Oz for 2 years, married me and stayed nearly 10 years. We have a place in Williamstown which we bought and the plan is to move back there eventually. We visit Bendigo every year, especially to see close friends who built a lovely new house in Osborne Street on the edge of the bush - as I said most recently we were there just over a week ago. Rosalind Park, View Street, The Shamrock and Pall Mall etc are hard to beat no matter how much of the world you see. Good luck with the move back. I'll catch up with you again no doubt. OzTennis :)

If your ever back there, you will have to look us up... :D Hels |
