Adelaide to the Gold Coast
Hello everyone,
Been living in Adelaide for 3 years now and we're pretty settled with just a few annoying niggles; we can't help thinking we should of moved originally to the Gold Coast.
Has anybody left Adelaide for the Gold Coast? If so, why?
Thanks
Very interested in what you have to say.

Thanks for your reply, and I have absolutely no idea. It's a thought we have been toying with lately and really we're just trying to build a bigger picture at the mo.

Re: Adelaide to the Gold Coast
Hi Guys
We moved to Gold Coast 3months ago as we had quite a few friends up here we wanted to be with. Boy, did we ever need them!
Gold Coast has lots of good points such as weather (sorry typical pom), lots to do with theme parks, lovely beaches and parks and if you havent bought a home yet free stamp duty if you can keep your purchase under $500k (this is do-able up here unlike in Adelaide where we were struggling to find something suitable).
We have found rents slightly cheaper, property slightly cheaper but then everything else pretty much on par or slightly more with the great exception being WAGES (lower in all areas)! it was also harder to get work up here - we have both got jobs now but it took a while - 5 weeks (which for us was a long time) All up it probably cost us $15k to move if you count the lost wages and it certainly put a dent in our savings.... Would we do it again - yes but only with the help of great supportive friends without them we would have really struggled as at times I was considering crawling back to Adelaide.
Good luck whatever you decide and if you have any specific qs please contact us.
Take care
