Adelaide??
We currently live in WA, near the town of Mandurah, about 100km south of Perth and have been seriously struggling to find a place to buy in our budget. So we have wondered about the possibility of moving to SA in the hope prices are cheaper. We dont need to be close to the city, but MUST be walking distance to a beach. Basically anywhere in about 50km of the city is fine as i will do the same job i do now and fifo from Adelaide.
So here is the problem. Our max budget is $300k for a house. Dont want an appartment, but can live with a small house with say 2 bedrooms. Any ideas if such a suburb exists?

Re: Adelaide??
I can't see how Adelaide would be any cheaper than Mandurah.

Re: Adelaide??
In general, property prices are lower in Adelaide.
Plenty of places at that budget in the suburbs...just needs a bit f research.
Have a look
at realestate.com/au and search Noarlunga for an example

Re: Adelaide??
Agreed, but we cant afford Perth so are looking further afield. If that is still fruitless then it will be the end of our time in Oz

Re: Adelaide??
There's a really good Arts Culture in Adelaide. They take their Wine and Food more seriously than most of the other Cities as well.
I was well impressed with Adelaide last time I went.... but that was with Melbourne Victory and maybe every Crow Eater for miles was in town to have a pop. Plus the Arts festival had just started. Rundle Mall was packed at Midnight, as where the adjacent streets right down to Hindley up to the Parks up the top, where the festival was in full swing. Wasn't bad at all.
I enjoyed it and there were plenty and a wide choice of Breakfast places open early on the Sunday Morning.
Quite an interesting greeting from the massed Adelaide fans that day...
