Adelaide
We are in the final stages of our Perm Visa's for Aus. We think we will start in Adelaide due to a few family members being there.
Can anyone tell me the best areas to live in Adelaide and which ones to avoid?
Thanks

there some nice suburbs in the Adelaide hills such as Stonyfell, Belair, and
Mt. Barker. There are no areas in Adelaide which are dangerous and should advoid but the outer northern suburbs such as Elizabeth are a bit rough and these suburbs were settled by British migrants in the 1950's who worked in the factories there, however in the 1970's and 80's the factories closed down and there were no jobs for their children and the suburbs became a bit rough
with high unemployment.

Will you be renting or buying? How may beds? There are numerous areas in Adelaide that are worth having a look at - Avoid Elizabeth maybe but most areas are more than acceptable depending on your budget. Ok, only been here under a year so best to grill your family a bit more - perhaps thay know alot more than they're letting on?!

My family live in Mt Barker and Plumpton. I have not bothered them yet with details like this as I thought I will receive better views from Expats which wont be blinkered by the 30 year living of my family.
I will be renting first, while we find our feet. But it is nice to be prepered before the journey.
Thanks for your comments.
