I dont know if it interests anyone but there is a national early child development assessment which has been released for the first time this year - all it does is to flag those areas where the highest level of developmental vulnerability has been identified. I have no idea whether that figures in peoples' perceptions of what a particular neighbourhood then looks like. Some parts of Australia have better early childhood provision than others so ACT for example is quite well mapped. Other states, perhaps not so well http://maps.aedi.org.au/

As a SEN teacher, I found this a fascinating assessment and the areas they looked at are quite often the ones we are concerned with.

Sorry, I meant the areas of development eg social, health and wellbeing etc. Although the maps were spot on too. A great visual. Bit patchy though at the moment. Our suburb didn't feature.........
