Default ACS assessment gives 110 points - any advice ?

Hi,

Just had my ACS assessment back as 2231-11. As this isn't on the MODL, I'm now left with 110 points. What are the options for getting the other 5 points ? The most likely seems to be the $100,000 bond route but would be interested in alternatives.

Thanks.

Ian,

You can try the community language points, if you speak another language. Other than
that it's the $100K or spousal points, which I guess don't apply.

I assume you have the Work Experience points already?

Ian,

Ours is exactly 115 (ouch!), thankfully. If they disregard the work experience
though (my biggest fear), we'll have to resubmit with both spousal and community
language points...

Can anyone kindly direct me to any website where I can find detail on the
bonus point.

Example : Can my AUD100K be in a form of property investment? What are Australia's
Community Languages? Can my 6 months working experience includes working attachment
in my University years? I graduated from UNSW and I scored 110 points. Need 5 more
points to get there!!!

Thank you in advance.

Cheers!!!

Try the DIMIA website. Some outline information is there. Or if you're thinking of
applying for migration, you really need to get hold of the Skilled Migration booklet
for A$10. You can download from the DIMIA site, or buy a hard copy at any Australian
mission overseas (or DIMIA office in Australia).

No. It has to be in a designated government security for 12 months.

I don't think an up to date list is online. You would have to get the Skilled
Migration booklet. Most European and Asian languages in official use are included.

Australian work experience needs to be 'skilled' - unless you already had an overseas
degree you're unlikely to be able to claim this (and even then it would depend on a
number of factors).

But if you have an Australian qualification, there are 5 points available for that.

I typed the list of Australian community languages on another thread, do a search for
one of them ("French" for example) and you'll find it.

Hope that helps.
