Default ACS Assessment of IT Degree vs experience

Hi there

Im submitting an assessment to the ACS for my IT degree and qualifications. Im hoping to apply to go as Independant applicant but my points fall short (110).

I need more points for Speific work experience but my exp falls short (ie 2 yrs instead of 3 out of last 4)

But I do have a BSc (HONS) Computer Science from an university here in the UK.

Will the ACS subsitute that for my laack of 3 yrs worked in my occupation?

Many thanks

A BSc (Hons) in CS should put you in Group A, suitable for migration as assessed by ACS. (60 points)

An honours degree will not be a substitute for the 3 years needed for the bonus points for recent work experience, unless you are a recent Australian graduate, which, you are not.

Just to add something here:

- If you have a Group A qualification you do not need work experience to get an ACS
assessment

- With an ACS assessment, you need 12 months skilled (post qualification) work
experience in the last 18 months to meet the DIMIA requirements

- In order to get points for work experience (5 or 10) you need 3 years skilled work
experience in the last 4 before application.

- Recent Australian graduates are exempt from the DIMIA basic work experience
requirement, but do not get any work experience points. They are not exempt from
any work experience requirements of a skill assessing body.
