ACG, Mumbai Opening.......

I had applied on Sept 23rd 2000 under Skilled
Independent (teacher) Category for
PR to Australia. Due to certain reasons the case got delayed.
Now that all the things are clear, the ACG Mumbai at India is shut!!!
Can anyone tell me when the ACG will reopen?

Dear Gunitm,

For information on processing at Mumbai and New Delhi, look at the official DIMIA
website, www.immi.gov.au . As far as I am aware the closure of the Mumbai consulate
to the public has not halted processing of the applications which were lodged there.

Cheers

Hi George

Do you have any other information about the Mumbai Consulate..

This is what it says on the .gov site

"Applications for skilled migration which are held in Mumbai and are close to
finalisation will be transferred to other DIMIA offices for processing.

Applicants whose cases have been transferred will be contacted as appropriate. All
other applications will be processed when visa operations resume in Mumbai."

Cheers

Thanks George,
That sounds quite encouraging. But what I have been told that the things have definitely slowed down and the processing/finalising time has gone up.
Thanks mate.

Re: ACG, Mumbai Opening.......

Gunitm,

As I understand people whose cases were close to a final decision had there cases
transferred to bangkok and got letter in the mail.

Applicants whose cases were not transferred were not notified and all they have to do
is to wait till the office reopens.

I have heard it is reopening soon for full operations but no news yet though.

Did you get a letter saying your case was trnaferref to bangkok ...

Cheers

Jb,
Infact my case is through an agent and that agent is more than sick and tired by my frequent enquiries. I havent received any such letter that tells me that my case has been transferred to any post.
By the way how correct is it that the ACG Mumbai is opening soon? Where did u come to know about it.
I think that the Gods are just pure pissed off with me.
Thanks mate.
