Hi all, its it worth taking our above ground pool ...metal frame with plasic liner, 12 ft...we have used it for the past 2 years in the uk and loved laying in it dreaming of Perth,,,,,hubby thinks its too much hassle to clean but what do you guys think? x

Don't forget to sterilise the water for AQIS - probably best to ship it in 5 litre bottles for convenience.

First thing I would do is, see how much is it going to cost to clean it and ship it, then work out how much the same item would cost you here. I would have thought a fibreglass pool 12 ft is going to be close on $20K, an above ground around $5K - not too sure if these figures are spot on but I would have thought are close enought.

Then you would be in a better decision to see if it was worth it.

We have just had an above ground pool fitted and sunk in the ground so it looks like a "proper" pool. It is 7.6 x 4.9 m Costs as follows:-

Planning permsission $136 & water authority permission $35.
Hole dug $500
Electrics is shed $750
Pool $4750
Cement to backfill - endless supply estimate about $200.
Chemicals $100
Blokes to erect it $900
Total about $7500, then of course fencing and finishing off..

It has been a lot of hassle and hard work but it is an option of funds are limited.
