ABN number????
 

Hi guys,
we now have our TFN's easy to do just applied on line and they came through within a couple of days! Hubby has rang a couple of people about work but has been asked if he has an ABN number, think is i've been on line to research but can only see that these are for businesses? am i wrong? should he have one before he starts work (he's a solid plasterer for those that don't know) and if so how does he get one?

An ABN is an Australian Business Number, he only needs this if he is going to start a registered business/company. No need to get an ABN if he is going to work for someone else.

Perhaps they are asking him for an ABN because they want him to be a sub-contractor, remember if he starts a business of any kind ensure he is well insured !

Checkout www.business.gov.au it will have all the info you need.

Thanks guys, thats how i read it! he just wants to work for someone not start his own business well not yet anyway!
