AAPT tv advert

OK very important question here. Since we've arrived, we've seen this advert which we find hysterical, due to female character, who I think's supposed to be greek/aussie advertising the AAPT telephone provider.

We were told it was a bloke dressed up as a woman, but I don't think so. She wears a big dark wig, and says, "is this a joke" and "ummm-ahhh". Who is she???? Is she a comedienne or just a character created for AAPT? Who cares, she's a legend!!

Please if you know, put us out of our misery!! :D

Maria Koustas (sp?) - the character is called Effie - The Bloke says she is from a comedy show set in a Greek cafe back in the 80s, and also appeared in the "Wog" films with Nick Gianopoulos (that is all totally Greek  to me, but he is an Aussie and sounds like he knows what hes on about!)
