It's a risk you take if you go up there though.... or live up there.

But gathering water from the edge of a lake or river like that ... it's asking for trouble. Should have been an adult doing it.

Im shocked, we know they are there, we know the dangers.
You would think they would be more careful, I would not let mine near the waters edge.
I watched a scary thing on foxtel last night, it was in America, Aligators just coming up to the edge of the water and taking adults.
Sympathy to the family though, they must be going through hell.
