Default 6/7 seater cars? and Car seats?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if you can get a 6/7 seater car for fairly cheap in Perth?

We have four kids so need a 6 seater. But wanted a cheap run around that we could replace a few month later with something better.

Anyone know if its possible, cheapest car?
Ive heard people getting cars for 2000 -4000 dollars but not so sure about 6 seaters.

Will not be living in Perth City so need a car to get around. Work is WA but will be in Perth for first two weeks.

Also what is car seat requirements for a 2 year old? We have a very good (plus it was expensive) toddler car seat here and wondering if I should just get rid and get one in Australia.

What is car seat law for ages 8years etc. Do they need booster seat etc

Any info appreciated.

We [well Deb's Dad] bought a 7 seater Mitsubishi Nimbus it's an oldish one but only cost him a couple of grand. Less than a months car hire would have cost, we've had no problems with it for two yrs then Deb blew a top hose a couple of weeks ago
The law seems more biased towards the weight of the child as opposed to the actual age, there was a good thread on this a few weeks ago try searching booster seats or child seats.

I think it was started by Buzzy Bee. From what I remember UK seats are not legal here so don't bring it.

Note the 7-seater spreadsheet is a bit out of date now, for instance the Hyundai Santa Fe is now available in diesel, and the TerraCan is on the way out. The Mitsubishi Outlander is a new contender.
