Dear all...

Can anyone give me a rough figure of what salary package I shall be expecting since I have 5 years UK experience?

My agent told me approximately $70-80k per year. But I found other agencies suggesting I shall be looking at $100k.

I'm confused now... please help.

Think you should be a 3.5 (level 3 fifth (and top) increment, which is about $67000 I think

I have no Australian experience at all. Purely British. Is that ok?

Depends what you have done, who for, who looks at your CV, experience of Australian applicants for the position, as UK experience doesn't count with some employers. That's what Dorothy was getting at.

My experience are wide range as a project engineer, from stadium to schools, to industrial mills, and past 2 years I'm concentrating on high-rise design and management. I'm hoping I could get similar experience too in Melbourne. Perferbly I want to be in high-rise again...

In engineering, lack of Aussie experience should not be a problem. I reckon you should get circa $100k - maybe. Melbourne is not known for high salaries in engineering.
