Default 457 Visa Jobsite sponsoredjobsinaustralia.com

Does anyone know if this website is any good? sponsoredjobsinaustralia.com.
They charge a monthly fee for access to search for 457 visa jobs but also provide other services including Australian style CV etc.
Thanks and Regards
David

Why would you pay a monthly fee to look for a job? The employer normally pays for recruitment of staff.

If I search for 457 visa jobs online I get a lot of rubbish ie results that don't offer 457 visa sponsorship so thought a dedicated website might be better.

I really think that it's a way, cheap way, for them to make money, there is no guarantee that the jobs even exist, the company may have, in the past, taken people on via the 457, but there is really no guarantee they have them now.

The vast majority of people who get 457s get them by approaching companies directly, not via a money-making site like that.

In 14 years on the boards, I have never heard of anyone using or needing a company to find jobs for a 457.

Same here. Closest I've seen is nurses using an agency, but even then its the employers that are paying the agency. Never come across a company like this before.

Ok thanks everyone for your replies.
I'll give them a wide berth.

Is there any kind of official list of employers that sponsor 457 visa?

I did see something like that for NZ.

I work in IT, specifically SAP.
Thanks
David

There is no list of employers.

Do you qualify for a skilled visa?

You know that the 457 is ending in March? It's being replaced, details here.

Thanks. No I didn't know.
So there are now two a short term and a medium term visa. Of which the medium term visa holder can apply to become permanent.
But the maximum age is now 45?

You really need to have a think if the move is really viable. At your age, you are likely to only ever get a temp visa and sooner or later have to make the move back. Moving countries is VERY expensive and harder as you get older.

Thanks verystormy. That's my concern. There's so much more to consider than when we had no kids, mortgage, pension investments etc.
I'm beginning to this it's too much of a long shot.
I couldn't persuade my wife when we were younger but it was cheaper and much easier then.

As you are over the maximum age for all of the permanent visas, all you are going to get is a 457 or what ever its replacement is. That means a temp visa, at the end of which you have to move back. But, it comes as well with a big bag of issues. These include:
If your kids reach university age, they will be treated as international students. But, when you return to the UK, they would have to be home 3 years or be treated as international students in the UK.
A number of states charge 457 kids for education - it can be a lot
Partners of 457's can have issues getting work
The visa is tied to the employer, so lose your job and you have a very small window to find another company willing and able to sponsor (not every company can or will) or leave the country.

Also, the fact you have "persuaded" your wife now is a worrying comment. Emigrating can be an incredibly stressful thing to do and it has claimed more that one marriage. Doing it when one party has had to be persuaded into it can cause BIG problems down the line
