457 medical
Hello everyone
I have just discovered this site, and seems extremely useful. Everyone seems very helpful, and eager to benefit others from their experience.
Our position is that my wife has been nominated by an Australian hospital for a two year contract. We are applying for a 457 visa.
Our nomination approval came through the other day, and we have booked appointments for medicals and X rays in January.
My concern is that in 1994, my wife was off work for 12 weeks, after injuring her back lifting a patient.
She has physio every now and then, but no real problems.
Does anyone know if this is the sort of thing that could jeopardise a visa?
Cheers,
Mark Jones.
p.s. I will relay our experiences in the process if anyone finds it useful.

We didn't need a medical for our 457 visa, just chest x-ray, think you only need that if you are working with children or similar situation.

Thanks.
Sorry, I should have mentioned- she will be working in a children's hospital. So this must be why medicals have been requested.
Cheers,
Mark

dunno then.... but do a search on medicals, as it will probably be something similar to the PR visa medicals, and from what I remember things like what you mentioned will probably be ok, they are more worried about what you might pass on to the children. If it's only physio, you'll pay for that yourself, so will not be a drain on their medical resources.

Good point. I'm probably concerned about nothing.
I'll find out soon enough,
Cheers for replying
