Yes it says 37 deg for today - Saturday!! Slightly out from our local weather forecast. I find it best to look at the local sites for the weather forecast, it's usually more accurate. Try looking up melbourne on the bbc weather site and you'll probably get something completely different!

edit - here's the bom forecast page

The OPtusnet home page is the one that baffles me. (www.optusnet.com.au) Earlier in the week it had Melbourne as 'cold'...with a max temp of 37; if you look right this minute it says "Dec 31st, mild, max 42" !! It always has weird stuff like this (well it seems weird to me!)

Bloody hell - that's a lot plusher than I was expecting! I dread to think what it was like in winter - I remember freezing in a mobile home in the South of France in October with all our clothes on in bed.....

It was freezing, the kids would have blue lips in the morning and jump in our bed.

When we first arrived from scorching penang it was dropping below 10 at night and the first night we were here I stayed up to watch the ashes it was freezing I sat there shivering for four hours.

Have you not found their website?

Yeah I have - but haven't really read through it. They've also just sent us their brochure so I've got no excuse. Trouble is I'm too stressed trying to sort everything else out to take much notice of it!! Bloody paperwork is driving me mad :scared:
Are you taking the kids anywhere for New Year - or do they fall asleep early? We managed to keep ours up till 10pm the other night but they end up like whirrling dervishes (spelling!).....

Sorry I mustn't highjack this thread ...

It's horrible and rainy here

Not too sure what we're doing tonight, we could always go out with them and hope they crash in their pushchairs, always risky though

We'll probably end up staying in

I don't mid this heat too much but the little one has got heat rash. He is now in just a nappy and a bib and that seems to be doing the trick. The bib is a nightmare because it gets soaked in vomit all the time so we now have about 50 bibs. We have a fan in the room that circulates air rather than blowing directly over him and there is a towel between the mattress protector and the sheet to let his skin breathe better. All the windows in the flat are shut to keep the heat out and going out is impossible.

The doc said not to use any creams as they block the pores.
