400 a day get knocked back....Makes you wonder which country gets the most denials...

what about this bit "About 4.3 million people were granted temporary and permanent visas to Australia in 2006-2007"

Why you think 4.3million is too low? or too high?

I think 4 million sounds like a reasonable number - given that a HUGE percentage of those would be eVisas issued for tourists....

seems high to me, but as you say maybe including tourists, but even then thats still 12,000 per day.

Sounds fine to me.

Australia had 5.5 million tourists between 2005-2006 alone. That's a lot of temporary visas.

Total Arrivals : 11 269 335
Total Departures: 11 056 367
Net = Total Arrivals - Total Departures
