My OH is a spark here in QLD. This is a thread he post a bit back

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=354317

...maybe it might help some of you guys.

All I know is this whole licencing business has been a total pain in the ar*e & I think if we'd known just how hard it was going to be to get his licences...we may never have bothered coming...the risk of a potential year with next to no income would have been too great. Fortunately for us, he got work as a trades assistant fairly quickly.

You can get it here

You can buy it in PDF and dowload it straight to you PC. Be warned though if you want to print it, make sure you have spare cartridges. I used a whole colour and black one on it

Sadly you have to pay for it

It is something you need to have, so personally we decided we may as well get it now and then the OH can read it before we go.

yes we have the current one wends

it just means that there is either a revision due ie No 4
or a new version
personally i wouldn`t worry wends
its just the same here ( ask your other half )
in my time as a spark we have has
the 15th & 16th editions of wiring regs
we now use BS 7671 amendment 2002

most of what was relevant under the 15th ed is still relevant today
there are small changes to electrical characteristics etc
but in the whole its all very similar

pm or email me if you want a fuller answer

regards Steve

Hiya steve, don't know if you have this already but here is a link to the pre release pages of the new regs. Hven't read them yet, but should give some ideas of what to expect.

my opinion only

having read some of the draft proposals
may i make the following comments

these drafts are up for public discussion until 30 June 06
when i assume they will go away debate it to death and then issue the new / revised regs some time later on

i would therefore guess that we wont see this revision until at least the end of 06 early 07

that is unless some one out there know different or has inside info if so please tell

regards Steve
