A 380 at Sydney

I'm still chuckling at the extraordinarily inept Sky coverage of the landing of the new Airbus at Sydney this morning!

They headed over to the harbour cameras "to show it coming in any moment" 25 minutes after they told of it taking off from BNE - when of course it would have been halfway along the NSW coast. Then, as the cameras wandered all over the sky attempting to find the thing, for nearly half an hour they had nothing to say except that the airplane was "very big"!

After several misidentifications of 747s etc by the lady commentator we were treated to the -380 flying around as if in a fog and then finally, a landing shot from a helicopter which was mainly of Mascot back yards! (Plus a commentary explaining that the plane was "very big")

If the Beeb had put on a show this amateurish heads would roll!

Just too lazy to do the smallest bit of research. Ring a bell?

Glad I've got that off my chest......

LOL Rog, thats brilliant! :D
Where do they find these idiots! It's sad when an organisation as big as Sky can't find anyone that can tell the difference between a 747 and a 380........

But the serious point is that they - and the media generally - consider themselves experts on everything, and tear every other industry and enterprise to bits when any sort of mistake is made.

Kettle, black, pot!
