Come across some old pics I want developing.
Anyone know where I can get them done in Perth.

I did this for the Mother In Law and once you get rolling it's quite enjoyable to bring the old pics back to life.

I have a cheap ($100) slide scanner, and whilst it is good for downloading slides the quality is not the best - which may be a function of the original picture but I think is more a function of the scanner. If you want really high quality scans then have them done professionally - and don't whinge about the cost! If I remember from having a few done some time ago, it's very expensive.

Check out the above, cheap as, and they do it on DVD or CD, up yo you.

Did you mean that the film needs to be developed or do you actually have the negatives?
I've scanned thousands of slides and negatives. I use an HP Scanjet 4890. I do the in bulk (16 slides at once) to about 2000x1600 pixels per frame then go back and repeat at a higher resolution if warranted or needed. They need tidying and colour restoration but it's amazing what a bit of Photoshop Elements can do. Slides that have faded almost away over 40 years or so can be brought back to life quite successfully.

Maybe you can help me.
I scan a lot of business paperwork at 8 bit greyscale about 200 dpi and it gives pretty good results.
What sort of resolution would you recommend for scanning standard colour 35mm film negatives?
Just everyday snapshot stuff.

I have just learnt that Scancafe do only Canada outside the US (at present).

About AUD163 + postage on Amazon.com but they won't ship to AU.

Absolutely nuts.
Even after paying that high postage it's about AUD 100 cheaper than Office Works.
Oh, plus cost of a new plug...........erm, and an electrician to fit it
