hello to you all

Sorry I havent been on here much lately, I have just been sooo busy (and we moved here for a quieter life) NO CHANCE!

My update here in Melly so far.................

JC is loving work, he loves working in the city........
Montu is lovin it here and doing fine, she loves her walks by the beach and seems to of settled in really well, she goes in for her op to be de-sexed at end of the month, so I will be a nervous wrek then

We have had our first visitors, my auntie and uncle from Perth came to stay for a week, they loved it here and we had some nice April weather (apparently the hottest on record). I loved having them here, but it was hard work, having to go to work and then come home and entertain guests.


Life here is great but we still have to same old shit as we did back home....
mainly such as - no time to ourselves, overworked, money issues etc.....

I do have to say that we are alot better off financially than we would be in England, but we had an idea that when we moved here we would have more lesuire time together, but thats not happening, we always seem to be either working or doing something! Our social life is much better here than in the UK, although it does seem very superfical at times and I feel like i would rather stay in with a cuppa and the tv, instead of having to go out and make the effort with people who i dont really know. And Cas & carl I dont mean you so dont worry, and i'll catch up with you soon......

After a day at work and walking the dog, we dont get anytime to just sit and chill out, if its not people calling you up on the phone and chatting all night, we are off going surfing, going to barbies, shopping and going out for drinks, we are physically exhausted! Suppose we cant complain tho as this is better than having no friends i suppose. Even if we are becomming alcoholics!!!!

My job is my dream job, even tho I only wanted to work part time and the staff are bitches, i was offered and full time post and didnt want to turn it down cos it was what i wanted to do, thing is i am so tired and i dont have time to do my housewok or finish my studies as i intended, and i am even bringing work home with me on a night. Must say though, the money has come in very handy, and we are planning a trip to Port Douglas in june so i am looking forward to that.

JC got a speeding fine the other day for $205 bucks, the coppers hide in the bushes and dont warn you, they are out everywhere so beware! We really could of done without that fine as we still have lots of furniture to buy and we are saving up now to try and buy a house and some land here in the next year or 2, so I was gutted when i recieved the fine letter

Anyway, the weather is cooling off here now, hopefully I wont get SAD here, cant beleive its 17 degrees today and i am freezing, wearing my winter coat and wollie beanie hat, if it was 17 in England we would think it was warm, ha,ha! Thats really funny....

It was nice to see Dolly DD when she visited us in April, hope you are doing good.

Nice to hear from you again. It's a shame that you move to the other side of the world and STILL have to work I found that even doing the housework had me sweating like a pig!

Sounds to me like you are enjoying life a little more than you are admitting

Things are really busy for the first few months aren't they but hopefully breathing space follows soon.

Hi Laura,

Sorry I haven't got round to emailing you....... (slap on hand). It's winging its way to you (honest!!). Can't tell you how wonderful is was to see you at the meet and then again at your home. Had a lovely walk on the beach just before sunset. How lucky you are to be just a few steps and you're on the beach, heaven!!! I still can't believe you made it!!! Also can't believe our hotel while we were in Melbourne was a stones throw away from where Jonathan works!!!!

We had the most amazing blast whilst we were in Oz. So desperately don't want to be here any more. Can't wait to be Montu's walking buddy!!! She seems to have really settled down into her new life.

Nice to her from you and pleased things are going so well. We move in 43 days to Brisbane, house is sold or in the process of being sold. I've finshed work but haven't the time yet to be lady of leisure.

Hi Laura. It sounds like things are going pretty well on the whole. Long may it continue! I think you have to expect the first few months to be hective, I'm sure it will soon calm down to a 'normal' level

And don't worry about Montu's op, it's fairly routine. When our Sheba was done, she was running around after a couple of days (of pampering ).

Hey Laura - great update post - you have a lovely suntan in DD's photo's already!!!!!!

Also not sure you will of noticed but......

I GOT MY VISA TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got it on Friday 29th April there!!!!!!! So excited and we are going to book our flights next week probably for October/ November time!!!!

Glad your job is going so well - are the ozzies quite bitchy then?!

Montu will be fine for her op - poppy was so funny after hers and staggered for a few hours and had a lovely pink bandage on her leg!!!! Apparantly tinned tuna is quite a good thing to feed them after the op as its light and they are unlikey to be sick with it, so tinned Tuna is what she got and she loved it!!!!!

Anyway when we are finally out in Brisbane - you must come and visit us for a wee holiday where the warm weather is!!!!!

Glad to hear you call have your visas now, lots happened on here since i last was on here and lots of newbies, seems like only yesturday when i stumbled upon this site, and now i'm living in Melly!!!!

Yes some of the Aussies are bitchy at work, tho its all due to bad management on the managers part, come back NHS all is forgiven, ha,ha! Hopefully I can just use this job for experience and hopefully apply for a similar one soon, working for a better organisation...........
