3 or 6 month reckie in motorhome worthwhile?

Having been addicted to this website for the past few weeks, I'm now thinking perhaps we should visit Oz before diving straight into full blown immigration. Has anyone ever taken 3 or 6 months off work to tour Oz in a motor home? We're in our mid-thirties with a 2 and 4 year old. Is this a mad idea. Love to hear from anyone's opinion on this.

3 mths is plenty of time. Friends of ours did this a few years ago and it gave them a really good insight into oz. I'd say go for it!

Hi we went out only for 3 weeks and we were pleased even with such a short visit we have 2 children aged 7 and 10 the 7 year old had his birthday there but we decided to have an apartment so that we could get an idea of cost of living etc.. I have to say if you are lucky enough to do that then go but because it is not a cheap process, I think for us this would have took away from our migration fund  we also managed to see quite a lot in this space of time... This site has been brilliant and we also subscribe to a magazine called 'Australian News' www.australian-news.co.uk, this gives us loads of the nitty gritty stuff we all need to know ... Hope this helps  jane
