2nd VAC

Can anybody advise please.
Just received notification that I should pay my 2nd VAC within 28 days after the date of the letter. Have phoned up my credit card company and asked if they could put my credit limit up, and it is just so much of a palava (probably because it has to go up such a lot due to payment of AUS$26,475), could take a few days and then no guarantee that they will :( Dont have an Oz bank account yet, as they say cheques should be drawn on an Oz Bank or a bank that has representation in Australia

How has anybody else paid please - any help would be much appreciated before I am carried off to the nuthouse :scared:

Not even sold the house yet, been on the market 6 months - think I'll put it in the container!! Need plenty of
Thanks

Hi Honeybun,. remember me? I am going on a Cont.parent visa, but I am doing the temp. one as I knew my limit on my c/card wouldn't stand up to the full amount. Will pay the other half when I have sold the house, once I have got there. I actually went into my bank and they transferred the cash over to my current account from my credit card (same bank), then they raised an international bank cheque payable to DIMIA for the amount which only took a few days.Cost £15. I sent that off, and I have now got my visa, and have sent it off to London with my passport. I am putting house on market next week. Have to do initial entry to Oz by end of March. Could yu possibly ask the bank to give you a temporary loan to cover the difference between your present c/card limit and the VAC amount? Or ask the bank or b/socy with whom you have your mortgage and ask for an advance of your equity? Hope this helps a bit

Our type of visa is 6-9 months after being given case number, this is on average. Took me 18 months due to op etc. Putting house on market next week now I have my visa.

You can get a bank draft in AUD from your local bank, however be aware you may face a total nightmare if it gets lost en-route (or misfiled in DIMIA - these things do happen).

Instead of trying to raise your credit limit (which will require a credit check), why not just pay money onto your credit card to create a cash balance before the DIMIA charge goes through?
