In your position I would validate the Australian visa and then return to the States and carry on with your jobs, in time getting the green card.

The US offers far greater opportunities for advancement and has generally much better standards of just about anything I can think of.

I spent 12 years in the USA and if I'd been able to get a card I would still be there!

We currently do not have jobs lined up in Australia and it seems that the job market in Australia is defienetely slowing down, and also that the Aus economic outlook is all dependent on China. Given all these economic problems, I'm having second doubts about moving to Aus (we're scheduled to go next month but haven't purchased tickets yet)! However, my spouse is still willing to try out life in Australia. However if things dont work out for us in Australia, then there's no coming back for us here in the U.S. because of visa issues. Any advice?

If these are you second doubts, what were your first?

Think this is a good idea, validate then you have 5 years to make latest date of entry - time enough to see if you green card comes through!??

if you are SURE to get the US greencard (even if it means living there for another 4 years straight)...

I would stay in the states.....its no joke uprooting everyone and starting from scratch all over again...

but if your work visa is set to expire and no hope of a PR visa in the states... then try oz with your oz PR visa...

but dont think that things will go as smoothly as you would wish over here...
