Default 20 ft container big enough?

Anyone got any experience of removal companies and their estimates of space required. We are a family of 4 going with Crown who have said that our stuff should just about fit in. Am I right to assume that these companies tend to overestimate the space required or are they pretty accurate??

We are a family of 4 too and came from a 3 bed semi with an annex thingy full of crap. They said a 20' container originally but then said when packing we had too much and would need space on another container. Low and behold when it arrived on our drive in OZ it was all packed into a 20'er. Packed to the gunnels mind you. I should think you will be okay, we did take A LOT of stuff with us, bulky kids toys, 3 settees, beds, tables, you name it, we took it.

You're right - they tend to overestimate. You'd be surprised how much fits in a 20ft container. But, if you screw up with the estimating, imagine the outcome.

If they reckon it'll fit, it's 99% certain it will - with a bit of room over.
