Default 2 year waiting clause after Residency to claim Childcare rebate?

Hi All,

I am enquiring about doing the 189 Permannet residency Visa.
I am curently on a 457 but have just arrived in Oz. MY employer will sponsor me for Residency in 2 years.

As we have kids I am wondering if it is worthwhile to do the 189 myself staright away.

Then I read a post online to say you have to have be residing in Australia for 2 years as a resident prior to claiming Chilcare Rebat.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks for reading

On a PR visa you are able to claim straight away.

agree with OP, I was eligible as soon as I got PR - no wait periods.
