1st time voters...

I was wondering how many of us were voting in Aus for the first time.

Also whats the go,is it just a simple cross on the voting slip or maybe numbers in preference or what.

Do we have to let the people outside the polling stations know who we voted for?

Also peeing meself laughing at the poli's stood on the side of the road waving in the pouring rain..nearly rear ended the car in front!

This will be our first time, my husband thinks its a joke being forced to vote, even if you don't like either of them, its the monster raving loony party for me they are on my wavelength.

Trying to not make this post too serious (it is politics after all)
;)

its pretty straightforward really. when you turn up at the pooling booth you'll be bombarded with all the campaign leaflets from the various parties, then inside, get your name ticked off the list and they'll hand you the voting forms. it usually tells you on them what to do. I think you can just put the number 1 in a box or number them in order of preference. As long as you've got your name crossed off though, it doesn't really matter what you do with them.!!

we just got brochure with the junk mail explaining what will happen.

just as well as it requires some thought.

good thing is you can go to any polling station - which one will have the best barbie??

Don't be phased by the size of the Senate ballot paper. Unfolded it's like a table cloth for a table that seats 102!! :D

Definitely not. It's your business who you voted for and no-one outside would dream of asking you what you did.
