Just recived acknowledgment from visa appilication, we thought we were applying as general skills 136, but when recieved letter is says we are down as 139 skilled Designated Area Sponsor, and the waiting time is appox 4-6 months does anybody know what the different typs of visa are( cant wait til monday till speak to agent, i need to know now!) Any body had this type of visa and how long did it take... could it have anything to do with hubby's job being on demand list!!! In shock if visa comes this quick.....
Any info much appricated!!

hi..sorry i don't know..try the DIMIA website it has a big list....I'm getting a bit excited at the prospect of getting visa by april time!!!what skill is it??

139 is a sponsored visa where you have to someone ( a direct relative living in oz) who is a sponsor and assuror

your assuror has to pay quite a few thousand dollars to get you sponsored and assured

hope this helps

thanks for reply, im confused now as we do not have relative over there, now wondering if they put us in wrong group, will have to phone agent on monday to see!!

ps if im right then 136 is normally about 52 weeks unless hubby is on the skills demand list such as nurse, hairdressers etc

sounds likde defo wrong categpry as your assuror has to send all wage slips utilty bills tax receipts etc to say that they can afford to support you whilst you are there and also you have to send proof of family tree to confirm you are related to them (eg birth certificates of all family members)

reason i know this is we have got our visas on this category

scot 4 months on the dot, but would have been quicker had we not have to go to specialist with des's blood pressure (all was ok thank god)

so on average i would say 3 to 4 months from sending application

when did you apply
