12 months from when?
I have just recieved confirmation from the ACS that as of February 2004 I have been accepted under the relevant asco code.
Qoes this mean I have until February 2005 to send all docs to immi, get response and validate visa?
Q:Or does this mean I have 12 months as of today, or the date of the letter.
Starting to panic, now. We have been a bit quite for a few months, as for those that may remember, the wife and I had a night of from thinking about OZ and our existing daughter, and wound up expecting our second.
Our son is due in 6 weeks?, and I was hoping everything would arrive around this time, therefore allowing a year from September and the little man would then be 12 months old to fly to Oz, and not 5 months.

Does the 12 months not relate to medical and police checks ?
I know these are valid for 12 months.

Then you generally have up to 5 years from grant of PR although you need to take into account Citizen or RRV requirements.

Re: 12 months from when?
You have 12 months to apply to DIMIA if you want to use your ACS assessment. The letter from ACS should make this clear. And it's the date the ACS letter was *issued* that counts - look at the letter ....
The other posts are to do with validity of police and medical checks - they come at a much later stage. It looks like people are confused between the two.
