100k Bond

we approached each state, and I know ots individual basis etc etc.

But i must admit WA were by far the most professional, and speedy with email responses etc.

We had wanted to lodge bond with QLD, however they still havent responded to email(ssss) or indeed returned a call.

So WA it was, and Debs has just foned them to ask if faxes were received at 5:30pm Perth time, and bloke answered, went and hunted thru file, and theres our fax, quick reccy some advice and VOILA !

QLD replied to me ok. They all did eventually in fact. I went with QLD and they've been fine so far.

I thought WA were great to - when I phoned the girl told me that she had remembered seeing my fax come through on her desk.

Our visas were granted today - just over a month after we sent the money so it won't be long for you now.

Wife has just had an email again from WA to confirm funds are transferred.

DHL delivered original paperwork today signed for in Victoria at 8.40 Aus time so now we just need the visas - shouldn't be too long well done again DHL

We also went with WA for same reasons as you. Certificate of Inscription arrived on Saturday. I was expecting something fancy but it was a bit of a let down! won't be long now.....touch wood!

So you do have to pay the money before the visa is granted then?

We werent sure as couldnt find detailed info - we were thinking of investing to get the extra points, but the money is locked up in our house and obviously couldnt sell up until we had visas....

Yes- the bond lodgement is after medicals and police checks and before pre grant. Luckily we didn't need to rely on house money for the bond but i know others have and have remortgaged or got a bridging loan. If you do a search there should be loads on this topic

Hi
We are nearly ready to invest our 100K. Our agent has advised QLD as being the most consistent. I would be interested to know the interest rate you received from WA & Service now they have your business. I'm debating whether to email them all to find out rates etc.. is there a place on this site with all the email addresses? Are they all pretty much the same? we are hoping to go to Melbourne, so does it matter where you invest?

It doesn't matter where you invest. I moved to Melbourne and invested in SA. They gave the best rate at the time I invested (.25% more than the next one). I seem to remember that Victoria didn't do the 1 year bonds. It is worth trawling around for the best rate. I think I got the contact info from the notes that came with the application.

Good luck,
Alistair
