1 step forward several back!
Hi - we are new to this, and the process of trying to get to Aus.
We started looking at NZ but the cant get visa without job and cant get job with out visa is proving a little tricky! So after a possible job interest for Aus via a NZ application we have decide that Aus may be better and possible (marginally) easier!
Any way we have been looking at visas and it would appear that skilled is the route - and due to rellies! (see picking up the lingo already!) in designated area we thought we had an easy ride - until we came across the assurer issue. We seem to need sponsorship to meet the points anyway if we go the point test route so it seems we have to overcome this one way or another.
The rellies in the area are retired, and whilst awaiting a reply, I suspect that my other rellies will be unable to meet the $ test - even if they are willing to accept what seems a pretty big commitment. Albeit we have the funds to but up the bond, buy a house and just about support ourselves for the two years without working.
Have anybody else overcome this by using any other sort of assurer - is there any commercial assurers? or a secret list of people that will do it for a fee?
