$1.65 to the pound now from $1.70 at last close.....
That's $10,000 bucks less fro someone planning on selling a £200,000 house in england to move to Aus.
What the hell is going on???

Currently 1.6705, down a further 1.75% today, nearly 6% in a month and nearly 25% in a year and today down a similar amount against the USD, EUR, JPY etc not looking good at all.

That just definitely put the Melbourne Median House price in front of the London one.

Guess we'll never know, but I'm pretty confident that the tories winning this election would be better for the £ than Labour (they plan to reduce the deficit which would be short term pain for what they hope to be long term gain).

It's now $1.6657 to £1. WTF is going on. The rest of the news is talking about how the GDP is doing better and how the UK economy has actually started growing. I just don't understand why it's getting worse.

weaker GBP is good news to UK exporters as it makes their products cheaper and more competitive in international trade. in some other countries their governments deliberately devalue their currencies to achieve same effect.

I've found some answers to my questions in this article.
