Aussie wages must be looking good at the current exchange rates

I guess the average wage is looking quite generous too.

If the rate keeps dropping like this we'll all be pound millionaires (Just kidding!)

Probably quite a few pommies here in Oz doing their sums and thinking about a return to the UK.

Yeap - that's how quantative easing has helped the economy. All that extra money has made us all poorer . . .

I wonder if the differential will increase when the Chinese start really going at it on Aus Minerals resources again ?

Does anyone know if resource buying actually increased the everyday wealth of average people in Oil Rich countries.... Or did it all get channelled away by big business ?

I think you just have to look at Nigeria for the answer to that question.

Yeah, but you were doing it as a pretend company in the UK. That's not available to everyone* so is not a great comparison. You could compare it to a friend I know who manages to get his tax down to 6%. Again it's not something everyone can do so it's not really comparative.

*I'm sure if everyone manged to scam it then the government would bring in tougher stuff than IR35.

Probably.....but I really can't be arsed with such trivia.

Life is too short to worry about whether I pay too much tax or not.

Anyone thought that it might be the weak US dollar that's affecting all this? I don't think Australia can compete with the low cost of US exports forever - maybe I'm wrong.
