What are they going to do now as oz is getting more expensive & they are getting less for there £ ???

You talking about people moving to Oz with 10k GBP or less ?
Well, If they are moving as skilled emigrants (and assuming in a profession where there are real opportunities) and have a half decent head on their shoulders and a good work ethic, they really should do fine.

When we moved in 2002, we came with no jobs lined up, no house to sell, no friends or family in Aus to help out and a total bank balance of 7k Euro (just undedr 5k GBP then (which converted to 11,200 AUD at the time)

Worked out fine for us
