The clubs used to perform a good function for society but these days they are a lumpy gravy train for the directors and a cash leech on the poor who become gambling addicts. The only good thing about them is the revenue they provide for the government but then you have to wonder what those billions would do if put into the local economy rather than the clubs.

MMmm overcooked veg in "heavens waiting room". Then there is the uniquitous chinese in RSL that use a ton of MSG and food colouring. Real sweet and sour sauce is not red.

My total contribution to that $4.4Bilion, is $2, and i think that was in about 1994.

I never liked those pubs in NSW which were more like downmarket casinos than a place to have a few beers.
