$20 more the story goes on
Decided to invest another $20 on internet in the hotel for the day so the story continues,
Tuesday.Woke up to two things this morning;
1 ) A beautiful sunny morning in Brisbane with not a cloud in sight, immediate thoughts ! Yeah this is the kind of thing i was wanting and expecting over here, one of the many reasons for emigrating !
2 )The shock and horror on seeing that someone had been detained in connection with the attempted bombings back in the Uk, immediate thoughts ! Holy F**k this is not the kind of thing i was wanting or more so expecting yet another one of the reasons behind our emigration ( hopefully leaving the likes of all that sort of shit behind although realising at the same time things like that happen all over the world unfortunately!Well hopefully they've gotten the perportrators before anything significant happened !
Linda telephoned the electricity board today to connect up in preparation for our move to the rental on friday (tel 1300308624 energex i believe ) .
Lovely day today so decided to walk back over to Southbank again.Noticed new water park features had been added since last year (very nice they are as well ,pity the lagoon is out of service for repairs at moment )and an extension has been added to The Plough public house making it seem much more attractable in my opinion and plenty busy it was as well !! Strolled through the West End for the first time and found a plentiful supply of eateries in this area (3 or 4 indian restaurants available ) as well as a couple of boozers. Decided on the way back i would have my 1st hair raid in Australia and can highly recommend where the event took place! It was a shop called PUREMAN (tel30127990 ) situated at the corner of Albert & Charlotte streets and although not the cheapest i've had at $40 it has to be the best i've had over the last 30yrs! You could say it was an all inclusive event as it included back, head and neck massages as well as the haircut!! Would definitely recommend the female stylist i had called Danielle as she was very good! So for all you guys out there who need a haircut please try this venue as i dont think you'll be disappointed! Ill certainly be using it again!Had a couple of beers in Union Jacks tonight then an early off to bed was required as at this moment in time still suffering from the effects of jetlag!
Thursday.Had breakfast in the city for a change and found on our travels that a typical eggs & bacon thing ranged from $6/person to $11/person for a hearty version. Decided to arrange car hire for a week from Friday so went to the office of East Coast Car Rentals (after several recommendations on this site.)City office situated in 76 Wickham Street(tel55920444) which is towards the Fortitude valley area of Brisbane .Cost of car for 7 days (toyota yaris or similar ) is approx $370 which includes insurances (only $200 excess) 2 drivers and unlimited kms.Visited Roma park for a couple of hours and found this to be very nice .Back in the city noticed that the fans were starting to amass in preparation for the Origin rugby game and were quite boisterous but all in good humour!!(Have experienced this at past cricket & footy games as well so it must be the norm) But having said this never seen any untoward behaviour which is a positive thing in my mind .Found an Indians in the city on Elizabeth street so decided to have our pre match meal there.Found the food to be very nice but there wasn't a very extensive menu to be had but would return for another meal no problem ! Watched the match in Gilhooleys Irish Bar and although the Queensland Maroons lost this match to New South Wales WE still won overall 2-1 Hoorah!! After game went to the casino and although it's much smaller than the ones at Sydney & Melbourne unfortunately it doesn't mean you lose less money!Temp today by the way was 25 degrees
Thursday.Yet another gorgeous day (no doubt some will disagree and think its cold at 21 degrees ) and as of yet done nowt today(sorry Linda has booked us into a hotel down at Broadbeach next Fri, Sat & Sun nights in preparation for the Expats meet that weekend. Thought we'd better have 3 nights ,1 to acclimatise, 1 for the meet itself and 1 to recover from the) as its taken me yonks to write this out with my one finger typing ability and my time on internet is running out so i must dash as i must do some research for a new car !
Bye for now,av a nice day everyone !
Regards Bobby & Linda

Just to recap....
After travelling 9000 miles you went to an English pub, had an English breakfast, had an Indian meal and watched a rugby match.

Re: $20 more the story goes on
1) It was probably closer to 11,000 miles as we went via USA & New Zealand
2) The pub we were in was in Brisbane so i class that as an Australian pub (rightly or wrongly !)
3)The sausages were definitely not english as you'll probably know if you're in Australia
4) The Indian meal brings out the multicultural side of me
5)The rugger match was between 2 Australian states and is a massive event between Queensland and NSW apparently and is also something i'll probably have to get endeared to in the future as it is a high profile game over here and i intend being here for the long term
Thanks for your concerns though and have a nice day !!!
