If your happy to live in a trash suburb don't take people down who are trying to make something of themselves are aware of how important location is.
For the record 110k would provide little in disposable income

On BE few people are going to say that $110k is not enough to live on or they will be thoroughly told off.
I recommend you estimate your take home pay, research rental values for the area and property you would like to live in and then compare it to what you currently have left over in the UK after you have paid your rent or morgage.
If it is about the same, allowing for an exchange rate of about 2.2 ~2.5 NOT the latest exchange rate, then you will probably be just fine.

110k is the equivilant of earning two salaries off 55k Me and my friends had an argument last night long story short most of us believed that in Perth 60k is the equivilant of 40k 4 years ago.
110k is not much. You won't be living in a nice area, you won't be sending kids to a good school and you won't be going on overseas holidays thats for sure.

Einstein.
I have heard people say WA is expensive, but double, really? How do you make that out? Excluding any housing costs of course as I have suggested OP allows for what is left over after housing.

I'm a student who works a lot. I live in a 40 year old studio apartment in Wembley.
Not great but it's in the triangle and in that city that's of paramount importance.
Just because people out there don't like me telling them that their being taken for a ride by aussie property developers doesn't mean people are going to like it.

There aren't a ton of people of this forum that have lived in both. They might know how much it is for a pint and a green curry but that does that really make the COL double?

Thats because you live in Clarkson which by definition is one of the worst suburbs in Australia and 90% of the population there would be below the poverty line.

And we have plenty of disposable income. As a matter of fact, I've just booked a 3 week trip to Asia.
