Damn right, although I'm reckon the mortgage goes on the other side of the ledger. You need to either talk to an accountant or call the ATO for all the info.

Have you also considered the fact that it may not go up for quite a while, and may actually head down towards $2 to the pound? Its been there before!!!!

I've still got money in the UK from my house sale from last year. Kept waiting for the exchange rate to go up that little bit more. Its amazing how greedy you can get. 2.45....2.5....2.55.....2.6. keep going i'll change at 2.65. the 2.53 i was offered back in December looks quite nice now (DOH!). Fortunately I'm in no rush to buy here. They reckon prices are starting to slide and i wouldn't say the Australian economy is at the most stable at the moment. So I'm still watching and waiting.

HIFX reckon it's going down to 2.3 in the next few weeks (they think because of something to do with the euro. But what do they know - they told us a month ago to hold on transferring our main amount of money b/c it was going up to 2.5 / 2.6!)
