Default Warmer in Aberdeen than Umbria

I planted out the tomatoes, pepers and aubergines at the end of April as usual thinking that summer was arriving. With the weather as it is they would be warmer in the north of Scotland. A bit of spring rain is very helpful but not freezing temeratures. I hope the caldo africano gets here soon. May be The Telegraphs' Saint Greta is on to something.

I've been doing a bit of weedkilling in my jungle, but at least the vines and the olives are doing fine, notwithstanding this awful late Spring . As I've said other years, anybody moaning about drought conditions in July will get an earful from me.
The situation is quite bizarre re temperatures. Places I check out each day, this a.m.

Off now to see if last night's thunderstorms have washed away my weedkilling efforts.

Last two days had breakfast in the garden, beautiful day, my kind of comfortable temperatures! Okay, 14c (although it does say real feel 19c) – West Yorkshire! But I know where I would rather be for the weather….

Never believe the weather report. They don't even have a proper weather station here:-). I work in Galway myself and live outside the city (20 km east.) It was showing 19 yesterday but even then you can't go by temps. We're lucky that we have a garden with all day sun and don't get the wind that much, so you could get burnt very quickly. Apart from a light 2 minute shower, we haven't seen any rain for the last 10 days which is unusual too. Even the cherries are slowly coming and probably a month earlier than last year. But we'll probably moan about rain next month.
