Smile Pino Marittimo tree

Does anyone know of a garden place in Tuscany where it would be possible to buy Pino Marittimo tree of a reasonable size and have it delivered/ planted. Just bought a house in Pomarance (Pisa province) and would love to have at least one of those lovely trees. Many thanks

Don't know a specific place, but have seen many times on the Pisa - Florence motorway lots of market garden places that seem to specialise in trees; especially as you start to get nearer to Florence.

Usually the vivaio/ garden center can plant and deliver plants to customers.
Check these links, you can call them and ask. I have seen the Pino Maritimo on sale as 2/3 meter tree.

Vivaio Toscana, vivai Grosseto: azienda Florovivaistica Albiati con vivaio in Toscana, vivai Grosseto.

Ours is over 30 meters high, but was planted in the seventies. I personally do not like it as it makes too much shade over the garden, sheds pine needles which make the soil too acidic and the sampietrini in our drive are all lifted from the roots. I will not even talk about the procesionaria caterpillar infestations.....

Thank you onnono and Isakat! Isakat, I appreciate your comments but I still love the way these trees look...however, will bear in mind what you said and will make sure that they are 'far' from the house.

Yes, away from the house they are lovely.

Also, if you do get the infestations, you are obliged to tell your Comune or you will be fined as the caterpillars are dangerous.

I just had a quick search on the procesionaria caterpillar infestations just to familiarise myself and yes, you are right, very important to let the authorities know...thanks, again.
I am so glad I joined this forum!
