I saw the article, and agree with what was said; but you have every right to prefer what you like when you like. In some respects I suppose I'm too 'italian' nowadays. Having said that, whilst I wouldn't drink a capuccino late morning, I've just had a nescaf.
ciao for now,
'o nonno

I saw the article yesterday Isakat and it made me think of my dear friend who when she came to visit, had some nice fresh bread then spread butter on it and then nutella We had a good laugh about it!

I agree with alot of the comments though- there are too many food snobs around these days and if you like something then surely its up to you ?

Yes, good comments.
Each nation should be proud of their cuisine, but if someone wants a variation of their food, than who are we to judge.
I remember my father loved eating pasta with ketchup on it( yuck), but whatever rocks your boat.
My kids love pasta with lots of melted Mexican cheese on it for extra spice!

O'nonno, I have Nescafe too, when I am lazy to put the cafetiera on.

Definitely saw "pasta al pollo" on a menu in Florence.
Wonder if it was there for all the American tourists?

Also saw a blackboard outside a bar advertising their "lanc menu" and I couldn't resist telling them how to spell lunch.

No, but I didn't order it either. Neither did I order the 50 Euro bistecca Fiorentina. Thieves.
