HAPPY HOUR

Re: HAPPY HOUR
Noo, on FOX - I don't have a Brit Sky dish - tried my old receiver on the parabola today and there was no signal - thought it might be quite nice to get the free progs occasionally. I've got SKY Italia with 3 FOX channels, BBC Prime, Jimmy, Disney and the movies all in English. The only weirdism is Disney Channel+ it is the only plus channel that will only receive in Italian! I was watching Cars the other night (bored again!) and had missed the start so I switched to plus - Italian only!!
There you go - I get bored - very, very, bored. I can't go out at night unless I get a sitter and I object to paying more for a sitter than for the night out! During the day is better but even then I'm sometimes twiddling my thumbs. That's why I'm on here so much!! When it's good here its very, very good, but when it's bad, it's just boring!! Kind of like anywhere really when there's no time to do anything once all the chores are done.

Re: HAPPY HOUR
We are! Hubby arrives back here Saturday lunch, Antonia is off school tomorrow and Friday - the Nuns fancied a ponte! Then I'm keeping her off Monday. Thinking of hiring a car and heading off somewhere, just not sure where yet. OH has waved The Mall under my nose as an incentive to sort out some car hire - trouble is it's normally him that gets all the goodies, while I'm going, "Not paying that!"
Happy Hols! Is this the Commie holiday? I can never remember. Seems to be some kind of Socialist rally going on here tomorrow, but where off to a park with friends, just hope it doesn't rain!

Re: HAPPY HOUR
well lovely ladies
I'm off to watch Brat Camp now to get some more tips and tricks just in case my kids turn into hateful angry ba$tard teenagers - but they'd better not !!!
I have same SKY as you TestaRossa and have also noticed that even though Disney is all American it often comes up in Italian and won't let me chenge to English. I have programmed my SKY so that anything available in original language automatically comes on in English - too much hasle going into info all the time to change
Night you all - chat soon.

Re: HAPPY HOUR
Sands, sands...I've seen this series - just checked on the C4 website, well saw the first 12 or something - then FOX took it off! With a real cliffhanger!! It's back sometime in May. Can you believe it was on here before the UK?!
We'll chat about it tomorrow. I think tonight was Halloween?
Well Chelsea will be playing Man U in 3 weeks for the Champions League cup. Makes that nice and easy then! This is when it's nice being in Italy, 'cos I know everyone will have heard of Manchester, where I was born! So, no, I'm NOT supporting Chelsea,

Re: HAPPY HOUR
yes! It was Halloween - very good last night. I love this series, much darker and funnier than a lot of others i.e. Ally MacBeal and, I'm afraid to say cos I know everyone will disagree, Sex And The City. I loved Gabrielle saying to Carlos 'as your wife, don't you know that I was due half of what you swindled too'??

Re: HAPPY HOUR
It reminds me of Dynasty, in that it is so preposterous it's good and fun with it! I used to dash home for Joan and co. - it was worth it for the hair and shoulder pads alone! It's coming onto SKY Italia this month - not sure I'm up for that much nostalgia though!
I think DH/wives will start again here as you will reach roughly the same point on Channel4. It was really weird! They showed about 12 episodes, then did a special re-cap episode of all the previous series, then showed the next episode, then took it off! I think they may have done the same in the US but not sure. It's even advertised as being the 2nd half of series 4, well weird! Anyway, when you have caught up I will happily discuss all that goes on!
Some days I feel like Bree or Lynette but never dippy Susan and definitely not glamourous Gabby! Edi - wellll!

Re: HAPPY HOUR
gawd, if I looked like Edi all my troubles would be over - even if I didn't have any troubles in the first place The guy who plays Victor's dad looked so so familiar to me I had to look up the series once the programme was finished.
It was Mike Farrell, the guy who played P.J. Hunnicut in M.A.S.H. The U.S. used to have mega reruns of MASH when I was living there so I knew it quite well. Anyway I hope you get it again soon, twas very very good last night

Re: HAPPY HOUR
got my SKy magazine yesterday - it doesn't start again here on Sky until towards end of June - which is starnge as most programmes like that tend to run more in winter months than summer -
I, like TestaRossa feel more like frazzled Lynette most days - and I wish I had more outings so I could at least try to look a bit more like glam Gabby - but also like her I spend a lot of nights alone when OH is abroad.
May Day bank holiday and what did I do today - spent half an hour cleaning the cooker (my fault as I let the ragu bubble over and I never wiped it up straight away like a good housewife should and so it dried in nice red crusts - don't buy white cookers girls .... mind you - my dad's lovely stainless steel hob is a bugger to keep shiny too. I even did a bit of itoning today - a job seldom done as I hate hate hate it !!!
But tomorrow morning a Brit chick friend from Vicenza is coming over for the day so if it's nice we'll go for a pic.nic or something.
Just going to feed kids - a bit later than usual but they0ve been playing out and it's a holiday anyway - and then I might be back with my happy hour drink !!!

Re: HAPPY HOUR
How strange -and here I was thinking I was the only one tidying the house today . Mind you, it was more a case of clearing up the sawdust and nail bits after my OH put the IKEA wardrobe bits together for me.
The day started off p***ing down but turned out lovely and sunny. Strange climate we seem to have in this neck of the woods!
