Re: Go compare

:(Yes, I've been threatened with being cut off once before, for the same reasons. If the bills arrive reasonably in advance of due date, then I always make sure they are paid right on the dot. If the postal service is in fact becoming generally so abysmal, I think it is becoming fodder for 'Mi manda Rai Tre'.

P.S. received a letter from Siena postmarked 02/07/2010 YESTERDAY 27/08/2010. A Roman army would have made it quicker!

All my bills arrive with alarming frequency.

Get direct debits set up (if you have an Italian bank account) and then you won't ever risk getting cut off when your bills are so late. You also avoid paying the Post Office charge this way.

Re: Go compare

:)Thanks for the suggestion Lorna, but I have cancelld all my direct debits, cioe' any that I had. a) I don't trust my bank and b) I want to see all my bills before they are paid. Prefer to stay with 'traditional' methods now that only income is pension, which I also collect in cash. You may call me a luddite.

I love the UK supermarkets. In Sainsburys I get my own scanner, scan my own goods and just pay at the check out. Imagine. Buy one get one frees etc - love those but Italy hasn't caught onto that. GS just does not compare.

you can scan your own stuff in the coop in lecce

OOOOOPS, Slip of the brain. Not per month on the council tax, per week. It's not a shed in Wandsworth and if it were it would probably £25.00 per day!!!!

We cancelled our direct debit with telecom because the were charging us for services we didn't have. Why don't you register and get your bill on-line?

We also have a major postmen problem. Even the post office knows what a **** he is because so many people complain. They tell everyone to write to Rome!
