Thinking about a post in Nairobi. Significant pay cut but great opportunity. I was wondering what kind of salary would be needed for a decent life out there - small (1 or 2 bed) but secure apartment with good amenities; eating out a few nights a week; owning and running a car; and outward travel?

I've heard everything from $700-$2000 a month for rent... that'd be great to understand. Or if there are decent places online to look at options?
