Hi folks
Currently unemployed in Dubai. Being considered for a senior construction position in Libya. Not sure about it. Anyone advise Re housing (compounds?) general cost of living, how much we need to earn, (would be going as a money saving exercise) Is is as bad as Saudi and is it safe.?? Is it a single posting or how would the wife get on (no children) any chance of her getting a secretarial type job.

I think Libya is a nice place to live and to save money for expats,also you'll save more if they paid for you the accommodation which depends from location to another , if you got the job in Tripoli , the best place to live is Janzour in the west of Tripoli just 17 km ,visit this site : rentals.ly or janzour.com and you will know more about Janzour city, the price is low in the west side of janzour and safer the the east side,you can make friends from all kind of people and nationalities ,nice houses and villas located there.

Just wondering if you ended up in Libya...what's it like? My fiance and I are thinking about taking a job there, would it be worthwhile, what's the cost of living like etc? Would we have any trouble with us not being married? Is it safe and is there any sort of military presence in Tripoli?
