Re: Introduce yourself before posting
The problem I find here is that the meat is too "young" so I buy Aldi Sirloins and marinate them to age them.
My gas barbecue is "aged" and connected year long and I get lots of hints from Irish friends
old trick I learnt when I waitered/cooked/managed/owned a piece of a steakhouse when I was at Varsity.(Father paid for 1st year,I paid for the repeat)
Lemon Juice and Demerara sugar for Steaks, Coca Cola for Pork Chops with a rough grain mustard paste, Syringe with garlic and olive oil and peri-peri for Chicken.
Hungry yet? Maddy?

Re: Introduce yourself before posting
Hi there,
I am Scottish, my wife South African. We have been out of South Africa seven years and spent a month there in April 2012 – it was amazing.
We are looking to heading back to SA permanently and I can honestly say that I never thought I would hear myself saying this but I do also say – 'never say never'. I’m sure there will be a bit of flack on this forum.
My wife runs a beauty salon and has promoted / used the Environ products in her professional and private capacity.
I wear several hats:
• Contracting business consultant (specialising in business development through sales growth)
• Audio producer / composer and specialise in multi-lingual productions currently branching out into video.
• Photographer.
Looking forward to our discussions on this forum

Hello mates,
I'm Laurentiu (Lau, shorter). I am Romanian, just graduated in Dundee, and I got a job offer in Pointe Noire, Congo. I'm about to travel to Congo in about 1, 2 weeks, and I just thought I would browse this forum for general information about living in Congo.
It's my first time travelling outside of Europe, so I kinda imagine that the cultural shock would be quite hard to deal with at first. But hopefully, I'll manage. Have a nice day.

Hi Everyone
I have a chequered past on these forums originally we were going to Oz (can't get in), then America and now SA!
Basically my husband is from Cape Town and one by one, year after year we've watched ALL our friends go back. The pull is hard and it's reeling us in.....slowly.
I have a small family here, Just my Mum and Brother really, that are close.
All our friends are happy there, we know the risks, I'm a little dubious, but not much, I think the weather, lifestyle, family and friends thing outweighs the bad for us.
Finding the whole schools/suburb thing a minefield as everyone has an opinion! safe areas (as safe as safe can be) are paramount.
We are taking 2 kids and 2 dogs, have to sell the house to fund the move...the logistics of it all is seriously giving me brain ache!!
Hopefully husband will keep same job, he works at home for a large bank, hopefully.
Look forward to chatting to you all

Hi, currently sitting in northern India but born at Lady Chancellor hospital, Salisbury and went to Greystone Park primary prior to our family leaving to SA a long time age. I am a gemmologist, have lived full time 14 months in Jaipur, Rajasthan plus 7 years in Bangkok previously. Everybody seems to be going the other way but I am thinking about trying my hand back in Zim. Had a few experiences back in Africa, most recently prospecting in Uganda 2 years ago but didnt work out. Hope to get some info and just say hello to fellow expats.
